ADW Architects Builds New Asheville (NC) Public Safety Station Into Hillside

ADW Architects studied Asheville's public safety stations, their locations, and the needs of the areas being served.
The solar system will consist of 250 solar panels, mounted on a galvanized steel carport. The system will be connected to a 250 kiloWatt battery, which will be capable of supporting an electric fire truck and the station’s full operations, even in the event of a power outage.

A Solar Powered and Battery Backed Fire Station

During normal daily operation, the solar system will provide power to the fire station building, electric vehicles, and several EV chargers.
