The Bozeman Fire Department held a ribbon cutting Tuesday, Sept. 10 for the new $13 million Fire Station 2 close to the campus of Montana State University.

The new station has been five years in the making, nbcmontana.com reported.

“Thank you to everyone who joined us at the new Fire Station 2 today,” Bozeman Fire said in a Facebook post. “Guests heard remarks from Dr. Waded Cruzado, President of Montana State University, City of Bozeman Mayor Terry Cunningham, and Bozeman Fire Chief Josh Waldo, who also had the honor of cutting the ribbon.”

Fire station 2 will have four firefighters and a ladder truck, the report said. The new station is expected to improve response times.
