Woman Killed, Man Critically Injured in Crash Involving Philadelphia FD Ladder Truck

A woman was killed and a man was critically injured after their car was struck by a Philadelphia Fire Department ladder truck Saturday afternoon in North Philadelphia, police said, fox29.com reported

According to the preliminary investigation, the fire department ladder truck was on its way to an assignment. A sedan cut in front of the fire truck, resulting in a collision, according to the police. The crash caused the sedan to strike an unattended parked car, the report said. 

Both the driver and passenger inside the sedan were taken to Temple Hospital. The driver, a 29-year-old man, is listed in critical condition, while the passenger, a 23-year-old woman, was pronounced dead at the hospital, the report said. 

The investigation is ongoing by the police department’s crash investigation division.
