The Texarkana Texas Fire Department held a push-in ceremony for the newest apparatus added to its fleet, the department said in a Facebook post.
The “Fight’n Fives” 77-foot quint fire truck took around two years to complete, with a total cost of $1.2 million. It carries a five-person crew and has a 1,500 gallons-per-minute electric nozzle, with a 480-gallon tank capacity. It also includes a 75-foot ladder and rope rescue package, designed for water rescues from the side of a bridge or steep embankment.
This is the second truck TTFD has added to its fleet recently, allowing the department to retire outdated apparatus and introduce newer technology and features to enhance community service. The department added Tower 1, a 100-foot Spartan aerial platform, last month.
