The Beckville Volunteer Fire Department welcomed a new 2023 International tanker built by Deep South Fire Trucks, the department said on its Facebook page, Thursday, May 2.

The tanker replaces Unit 2201, a 1995 Freightliner tanker.

The new rig will serve as a water tender on large fires with a 3,000-gallon water tank and compartments for ladders, self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA), and other essential tools.

The purchase was funded by the Panola County Emergency Service District, which is supported through portions of property tax revenue.
