Rumford Falls (ME) to Take Delivery of Stock Fire Apparatus

SOURCE: SUN JOURNAL

The Rumford Falls (ME) will be taking delivery of a new fire apparatus in March 2020. The stock vehicle is coming from Midwest Fire and will cost approximately $228,000. It will replace a 1994 rig built on an International cab and chassis.

The new Midwest rig will have a 2,000-gallon tank and 1,000-gpm pump. It will weigh less than the truck it is replacing, important for the floor of the fire station that will house it, which was built in 1912.

The decision to replace came after repairs to the existing tanker came in at $25,000.

According the department’s chief, the department hopes to soon replace a 2001 rig.
