This fire apparatus went into service in Wichita Falls (TX) as Engine 1 in 1954. Its service time as both a front-line and reserve engine came to an end in 1976. From 1976 to 1990, it served the department as the training engine. In 1990, the Wichita Falls Fire & Police Museum acquired the rig.
Today, this simple yet elegant piece of firefighting equipment enjoys retirement as part of the museum fleet with appearances at parades and civic events in the greater Wichita Falls area. Photos and description courtesy of Lindsay Dye.
