Oneonta (AL) FD Receives $550K Grant Toward New Pumper

The Oneonta Fire Department was recently awarded a $550,000 grant through the Assistance to Firefighters Grant through FEMA, wbrc.com reported.

The grant will go toward buying a new pumper in order to carry water to rural areas that do not have fire hydrants, the report said.

A fire official said this grant is for $550,000 and the city of Oneonta will match that with $600,000, according to the report. Once ordered it should take around 30 months to receive the new apparatus, the report said.
