Middleton Township (OH) Welcomes New Rescue Engine

The Middleton Township Fire Department in Dunbridge, OH, held a special ceremony on Saturday to welcome its new $700,000 rescue engine, according to a report broadcast by WTOL11.

According to the television station, the truck was built by Sutphen Corporation in Hillard, OH, and is dedicated to former Captain Ron Asmus who retired after 50 years of service.

Although the truck was officially welcomed on Saturday, it has been in service since July 3 when it was on standby for a fireworks show at Wood County fairgrounds, the television station reported. It responded to its first official call while returning from the detail.

The new rescue engine was paid for with tax dollars and replaces a 22-year-old engine, the TV station reported.
