IN THE NEWS: Pierce Is North American Bronto Distributor

Pierce Manufacturing signed an exclusive distribution and supply agreement to market and support the Bronto Skylift line of aerial platform devices throughout North America, including the 165-foot RLP.

Pierce will offer Bronto Skylift products on its Arrow XT, Impel, Quantum and Velocity custom chassis. Furthermore, Pierce said its dealer network will provide service, parts inventory, training and support for new and existing Bronto Skylift customers.

“With this agreement, Pierce immediately expands upon its leadership in aerial apparatus to meet the rescue and firefighting challenges faced by fire departments,” said Jim Johnson, executive vice president and president of Oshkosh Corporation’s Fire & Emergency group, which includes Pierce.

Esa Peltola, managing director of Bronto, which is based in Finland, said, “We think that the fire service will benefit as never before from the high quality, unique access devices that Pierce and Bronto will be working together to build.”

Pierce will market the Bronto Skylift RLP 100, 114, 134 and 165 aerial platforms – devices renowned for their performance, reach and articulation. The Bronto Skylift line features enhanced up-and-over and below-grade reach to enable more effective rescues in a wide range of scenarios. The Bronto line also offers a telescopic cage boom, a large rescue platform with more room for firefighters and a compact design for maneuverability.

Pierce said there are more than 6,000 Bronto Skylift units in operation around the globe.
