Fairview (PA) Fire and Rescue Receives $450K Grant Toward New Rescue-Pumper

Pennsylvania State Rep. Ryan Bizzarro presented the fire department with a $450,000 grant to help purchase a new rescue-pumper Wednesday, Aug. 21, yourerie.com reported.

The new rescue-pumper will replace the fire department’s 25-year-old rig, the report said.

The price tag for the new truck, which will feature more equipment than the current model, is around $1 million, according to the report.

“Delivering state dollars back to our region to help make our community safer is what my team and I strive to do,” Bizzarro said in a Facebook post. “Last night, we were able to make sure $450,000 went to Fairview Fire and Rescue to offset the cost of purchasing a new pumper truck.

“These volunteers answer our calls for help without hesitation – when they came to me for help, I didn’t hesitate to do my part to help them protect our community. It is a top priority of mine to make sure our first responders have everything they need to save lives and protect property.”
