Centre Hall Volunteer Fire Company recently purchased a 2001 Sutphen 75-foot tower for $175,000, lockhaven.com reported. It’s the first time the department has owned a tower.

The aerial, which replaces Engine 4-1, comes from the Hyde Park Fire Department in New York. Engine 4-1 is now listed for sale, the report said.

Th Sutphen aerial is equipped with a 1,500 gallon-per-minute pump and 500 gallons of water.

“With never having a tower before, membership will be taking the next few months not only to equip it, but to take trainings, and be sure that all membership is proficient on it before we begin to use it to serve Centre Hall Borough, Potter Township and the surrounding communities,” the department said in a Facebook post. “We thank all the fine folks at Hyde Park Fire Department in New York for all their time and assistance in helping us with the purchase of this new to us apparatus.”
