Canadian Firefighers Seek to Restore City’s First Fire Engine

Firefighters with the Fort St. John, BC, fire department want to restore an antique apparatus for use during events and having it on display in the fire hall, according to a report on the Energetic City web site.

The non-profit Fort St. John Firefighters Charitable Society are seeking to restore E-1 fire truck, the city’s first new fire truck and repurpose it, the web site said.

Since 2001, the truck has been in storage after having been taking out of service and the charitable society wants to get the truck back in showroom condition, according to the web site.

The members of the society said they would be looking for sponsors to help fund the restoration.
