Paramedic Killed, Another Injured After Ambulance Struck by Tractor-Trailer in TN

One paramedic was killed and another injured after their ambulance was struck by a tractor-trailer while responding to a crash on Interstate 40 in Jefferson County Saturday, wate.com reported.

A Jefferson County EMS ambulance was responding to a crash around 9:30 p.m. when it was struck by the tractor-trailer at the I-40/I-81 interchange, the report said.

Jefferson County Paramedic Jeremy Sutton, 44, died at the hospital, according to the report. Here is the obituary for Sutton.

“A procession for Jefferson County Paramedic Jeremy Sutton who lost his life in the line of duty last night will take place this afternoon. A procession will leave the Knox County Forensic Center at 5:30 and will travel to Farrar Funeral in Jefferson City. The procession will take 1-40 to Hwy 11E to Farrar Funeral Home in Jefferson City. We ask all who wish to honor Paramedic Sutton to please find a safe place to do so along this route.” – Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post Sunday, Sept. 1.
