Mt. Pleasant (MI) FD Gives Technical Assistance in Grain Bin Rescue

Firefighters from Mt. Pleasant helped rescue a man from a corn bin early Wednesday morning.

Mt. Pleasant Fire Chief Doug Lobsinger said the department was called for technical rescue services shortly after 7:30 a.m. to help Isabella Northeast Fire Department rescue a man who fell into the bin in the northeast portion of the county.

Rescue team members entered the corn bin, removed corn around the victim and installed a shoring container, Lobsinger said.

The victim was not seriously injured, was pulled to safety at 10:44 a.m. Wednesday, Lobsinger said.

The MPFD is investigating the incident.

Mobile Medical Response and Isabella County Central Dispatch assisted.
