Hackensack (NJ) FD Lands New Equipment from Grant, Donation

The Hackensack Fire Department announced recently that it has been awarded the prestigious Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) for the 2023 fiscal year in the amount of $278,000. This grant will enable the department to provide specialized training to enhance the skills and capabilities of its firefighters.

The grant will be used to provide 36 firefighters with swift water technician level training and 28 firefighters with boat rescue operation training. This training will equip firefighters with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively respond to water-related emergencies and ensure the safety of the community.
