Medtec Ambulance Corporation received an order from the Sacramento (Calif.) Metropolitan Fire District for 12 Medtec M168 Type III ambulances. Delivery is scheduled to begin in June 2011.

“Medtec ambulances – and their performance, reliability and quality construction among other things – have an excellent track record here at Sacramento Metropolitan,” said Sacramento Metro Fire Capt. Christian Pebbles. “That’s why we continue to transition our ambulance fleet to Medtec.”

The Medtec ambulances will be stationed throughout the district.

Each of the 12 units will be built on a cut-away chassis with a 159-inch wheelbase, a 168-inch long body and 72-inches of floor to ceiling headroom for maximum interior space.

The vehicles feature a center console, ducted heating and air conditioning, one-piece compartment and entry doors, padded radius cabinet corners and recessed IV holders.
