The Holly Village Council voted 6-0 recently to approve the purchase of a 2024 Spartan top-mount pumper from R&R Fire Truck, and financing through The State Bank in the amount of $666,445, tctimes.com reported.

The new engine will replace an aging 20-year-old apparatus, the village said on its Web site.

“We look forward to taking delivery of the new engine in a month’s time, after it receives its final touches,” the village said. “At that time we’ll host an event for you the citizens to check out the new rig.”

The fire department has been unsuccessful in obtaining grants to purchase a new fire apparatus, tctimes.com’s report said.

The old fire truck is expected to go to auction, according to tctimes.com. They could get between $55,000 and $75,000 for the old one, the report said.
