Aubrey (TX) Fire Department Pierce Enforcer PUC Pumper

Engine 522 was placed in service with the Aubrey (TX) Fire Department on July 27, 2019. A twin to this engine was placed in service at Station 1 and is designated as Engine 521. This engine features the Pierce Enforcer cab/chassis with seating for five and a forward-facing cabinet mounted on the left wall of the cab. The apparatus is constructed of standard aluminum with side roll and frontal impact protection. Full depth compartments and Gortite roll up doors are featured. Additional SCBA storage is located adjacent to the rear wheel wells on each side.

The power is provided by a Detroit DD13 505-hp engine and an Allison 5th Generation 4000 EVS 6 speed transmission with pushbutton controls. The TAK-4 Independent Front Suspension System is featured as is the Pierce Command Zone advanced electronic and control system. A Harrison 3.6 kW hydraulic generator is mounted on top of the water tank at the front of the body.

The apparatus has a Pierce single stage 1,500-gpm pump along with a 750-gallon poly, rectangular form fitting tank. The engine has pump and roll capability which is standard on a PUC engine. Foam capabilities are provided by a Husky 3 Foam System with a 20-gallon foam cell. Foam is plumbed to the front jump line, the lower front and rear crosslays, and the upper center crosslay.

The hosebed features an aluminum tread plate cover and carries 1,000’ of 5 inch LDH along with a 300’ flay lay of 3-inch hose. The front bumper tray carries 100’ of preconnected 1.75 inch hose along with a double donut of 100’ of 1 inch with a Forest Line. Two lower crosslays (150’ of 1.75 inch hose and 200’ of 1.75 inch minuteman hose) and one upper crosslay (150’ of 2.5 inch hose) are located in an enclosed compartment behind the cab adjacent to the pump panel. Additional hose stored in this area includes 100’ of 2.5 inch and 100’ of 1.75 inch hose. Additional sections of hose are also stored in the front left compartment. A Task Force Tips Crossfire XFT-NJ monitor with a TFT Master Stream 1250 M-R (1,250 gpm) is mounted above the pump panel. Ladder storage on the left rear of the hose body carries Duo-Safety ladders (a 900-A 24’ 2-section, a 775A 14’ roof and a 585-A 10’ folding ladder). A Little Giant Model 17 folding ladder is stored in a right front body compartment.

Warning lights include a Whelen Freedom IV-Q (72 inch) light bar with Whelen M6 and Whelen WION LED lights on the apparatus body. Scene lighting is provided by a Will-Burt Chief Night Scan Tower NS2.3-300 (mounted in the cargo area) with two Whelen Pioneer PH2 lights attached. Additional scene lighting includes Whelen Pioneer lights (Model PCPS1) on each side of the cab adjacent to the cab doors and Whelen Pioneer PELCC lights on the rear of the apparatus. The brow light is a Whelen Model PH2. Audio warning devices include a pedestal mounted Federal Q2B siren on the left front bumper and a Whelen Model 295SLSC1 electronic siren module connected to a Whelen SA315P 100 watt speaker mounted through the front bumper. A Whelen HOWLER system provides additional audio warning.
