Steve Redick took these photos of fire apparatus and equipment at the scene of a water rescue involving a car that went over a guardrail and wound up in the middle of the Des Plaines (IL) River. The local Fire departments do not have any kind of dive team available, so they used Chicago (IL) Fire Department Squad 7 divers from O’Hare Field. From Redick, “It was interesting to observe the placement of the access ladder and the deployment of the divers. Some unusual rigs were on the scene as well. Squad 7 was using an old engine as a spare. The boat was deployed upstream from my location.” All photos by Steve Redick, www.ksc711.smugmug.com.
